ARDUINO
DEVELOPMENT
This page shows how I began exploring different posssible ways to manipulate narrative. Creating slots and cut-outs to reveal and hide particular words. This was my initial idea, however the actual construction of the book made me reconsider, as it would be difficult to do so-the only option would be by hand.
These are images taken from my initial brain storm and transformed into storyboard sketches to represent the characters and the particular scene. For example : the Astronout is shown in the room of the little boy
Above is the quick pencil and paint brush outcome of the charter in my children's book

For every sketch i had created, i replicated using Adobe Illustrator-the initial drawings helped me to develop my story but also acted as a guild line to help me decide how to draw particular objects.
For example: the wooden style bed in the room, was the same initial drawing i planned out-i ncluding the green and blue colour scheme.
Inspired by my initial sketch i then continued to create a basic 'Octopus' shape in Adobe Illustrator using the paint brush tool, i then simply selected my desired colour: orange, and then created layers to enhance the image and create more detail such as eyes, texture on the skin ect.
Despite initially drawing the wheel as a separate object from the book i then decided it would be better and more interesting to attach it on the book's pages instead.
Therefore the reader simple reads the text on each page of my book and spines the wheel when a blank ____ occurs which then can then write in using pencil.
A close up image of the process I take to create my illustrations, as you can see the pencil lines which i use as a guide.
I then create colour schemes for each page and begin adding colour, and altering the opacity when i want to create texture or shadows.
